Treatment and Recovery Services

  • What Is It? In-person counselling, support, and connection to community resources for youth struggling with their own addiction concerns or dealing with addiction of a family member or friend. Counsellors are available in all high schools (both public and Catholic) in Huron and Perth Counties. Counselling support is also available for youth not currently involved in traditional schooling or who prefer to access support outside the school environment.

  • What Is It? A flexible treatment program for youth across Southwestern Ontario. Supports available include day treatment programming up to 5 days and full-day and half-day workshops and presentations for youth and/or their loved ones. Topics explored through the program include:
    • Substance use
    • Problematic behaviours (e.g. gaming, social media use, etc.)
    • Healthy coping strategies
    • Goal setting
    • Managing emotions
    • Healthy relationships

  • What Is It? This program offers virtual counselling services focused on improving the health, social outcomes, and quality of life for youth with substance use concerns, including tobacco use.

Youth Exploring Change Group

  • What Is It? An informational (non-sharing) group where you can learn more about substance use. Through this group, you can explore decisions about your current substance use, ways to reduce risk, and explore if you’re ready for change. You will also learn about options available to you (e.g. services, programs, and resources) when you are ready to make a change.

Peer Support Services

  • What Is It? A drop-in program where staff and volunteers who have lived experience with mental health and addiction recovery offer supportive listening and can help you connect to other resources if needed. This is a welcoming space for individual and group support and fun activities like movie nights, games, and crafts.
  • Who Is It For? Youth aged 12 and older

  • How Do I Access It? The Peer Support Community Centre is located on the third floor of 10 Downie St. in Stratford, Ontario. You are invited to drop in Monday – Friday from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm.

  • What Is It? Free transportation from your home to the Mental Health and Addictions Walk In Crisis Centre located in London, Ontario (648 Huron St.) for youth experiencing a mental health crisis living in rural Middlesex County (boundaries include Lucan-Parkhill).
  • Who Is It For? Youth 16-25 years old
  • Who Offers It? CMHA Thames Valley Addiction and Mental Health Services
  • How Do I Access It? Call or text 519-433-2023 and ask about transportation to the crisis centre
  • What Is It? Mental Health Case Management services are available to youth and adults who are experiencing symptoms of mental illness. Case Management provides ongoing support to stabilize mental health, achieve personal goals, and improve a person’s quality of life. Case Managers can provide support in the following areas:
    • community connections
    • housing
    • advocacy
    • income and budgeting
    • support in treatment plans
    • family relationships
    • education about mental illness
    • connection to drug and alcohol addiction treatment
